Dr. Giangrasso specializes in the treatment of children, adolescents, and families using evidence-based therapies. He received extensive training in the treatment of a wide range of psychological concerns including anxiety, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, sleep disorders and conduct problems. Dr. Giangrasso uses evidence-based, cognitive-behavioral strategies within the context of a warm and trusting relationship. He works collaboratively with parents and school staff to improve maladaptive behaviors and emotions of children and adolescents. Dr. Giangrasso obtained his B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania and his Psy.D. from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his pre-doctoral training at the University of Pennsylvania, where he trained with Dr. Edna Foa, the creator of Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP). ERP (also known as EXRP) is the primary treatment for OCD. As well, Dr. Giangrasso is skilled at using Prolonged Exposure for PTSD and cognitive behavioral therapy for other anxiety-related disorders. He was further trained at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia as well as having completed his pre-doctoral internship at the VA Medical Center in Coatesville, PA. Dr. Giangrasso has worked with children, adolescents, and adults in a variety of settings including medical hospitals, acute care inpatient psychiatric hospitals, university-based outpatient clinics, and schools. His research interests include the application of evidence-based treatments for anxiety disorders and school-based interventions.
