Disruptive Behavior is typically a chronic problem that can be resistant to treatment. Children and adolescents tend to engage in frequent and avoidant negative patterns of behavior such as arguing with authoritative figures/parents, risky behavior, destruction of property, aggression toward peers, lying and stealing. These constant maladaptive patterns lead to more problems such as poor grades, high absenteeism, and negative family relationships.

Details:
  • For clients ranging from 7 to 17 years of age
Core Components:
Individual Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

Social Skills/Pro-Social Training
  • With support, clients evaluate the cost and benefits of different behaviors. This is done individually or in a group.
Parent and/or Family Treatment
  • The treatment focus is dependent upon the age of the client (parent training for younger clients and family work for older clients).
